Within this post, you will find a video I have created to help you ground your energetic and spiritual field, to help you connect to your root chakra and reiki healing energy. Reiki is one of the four healing energies (Reiki, Sakura, Sophiel and Angel light) we can work with, and in today's healing music mediation, we are working with reiki healing energy due to its earthing properties.
Let's explore more about grounding and why we need to do it. Some people may find themselves needing to ground more than others, here are a few examples; if you work with spirit, have a sensitive body and mind, work in healing arts, live in a testing environment, have a strenuous job or lifestyle, irregular sleeping patterns, health issues and general stresses you might find the need to ground is increased for you and this video will give you the tool to do this quickly and effectively. Understanding the reasons why we need to regularly do grounding work can be further explained if we explore what happens when we are ungrounded. In general, but not limited to, we will feel lightheaded, dizzy, easily distracted, living on your nerves, extremely sensitive to noise and changes in the environment and electricity fluctuations around you, sleep paralysis, sleep disturbances, Vega system on alert rather than relaxation increasing the fight or flight response, increased cortisol, feeling floaty, enhanced emotional reactions, increase the tendency to self-medicate through substances. With some sensitive, empathic or spiritual people, the need for grounding is increased because ideally, you need to protect yourself from any harmful, negative energies you might pick up during your day-to-day life. Also, when you do grounding work you are taking part in self-care and preventing any psychic attack.
Before we start, let's get you prepared to be able to receive and do the grounding work. Make sure you are in a safe place, for example, at home in your bedroom or living room. Make sure you are either sitting or laying down (sitting with your feet flat on the floor would be the most ideal position). Make sure you will not be easily disturbed and have no distractions around you and it is best to use personal headphones for the entirety of this video. Make sure you are not driving or operating any machinery and if you are walking make sure you are walking in a safe area away from any potential hazards if you happen to be walking and close your eyes, however it is recommended that you be in a seated position especially for the first time.
When you are ready, I invite you to focus on a point, an area of vision in front of you. This could be a point or spot on the wall, ceiling, or a picture, or if you are outside a tree for example. Once you have found the point of focus you can see in front of you allow your eyes to fix their vision onto this spot. Once you have done this, allow the muscles around your eyes to start to relax. Allow your vision to start to go blurry then look up and close your eyes.

Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose, then slowly exhale through your mouth.
Again, Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose, then slowly exhale through your mouth.
Again for the third time, but this time we are going to hold our breath for three seconds before we release and exhale. Ready? Breathe in slowly in through your nose and hold, one, two, three, and release.
Keeping your eyes close, place your hand's palm facing down onto your thighs. If you are in a seated position insure your feet are flat on the floor. I invite you now to use the power of your mind to imagine that there are lovely green, healthy roots growing out of your feet. These roots are welcomed and are not painful at all, in fact, it feels natural and warm you can feel a sensation on the base of your feet as the big green, healthy roots are starting to grow out of your feet and into the ground beneath you. Allow this process to happen, affirm and repeat after me “I am intending and allowing my body, my energetic and spiritual auras to ground into the earth.” Keeping your eyes closed, continue to imagine your roots growing out from your feet and see that they are easily growing down into the earth. If you live on the ground floor your roots can easily grow down. If you live in a flat or apartment you might feel more comfortable with your roots growing out of the window first then down the side of the building and into the earth. Do, create, and imagine what works best for you.
Once you have noticed your roots reach the ground and earth allow them to carry on growing into the ground, going deeper and deeper until you can see a ball of white light. When you see this ball, allow your roots to wrap around this light. This light is the earth's chakra and its job is to help you ground and cleanse. Once your roots have wrapped around the white light earth chakra I invite you to imagine that you can pull up white light up your roots into your body. Pull up the light, keep breathing in and out. Feel the light enter your body through your roots. Feel how cleansing and positive it is. Now, imagine all the stress, strain, pain and negativity leave your body out through the roots and into the ground. Imagine this as a dull grey/black. Keep breathing. Breathe in the light, breathe out the dark. In with the light, out with the dark. Allow the dark and negativity to leave your body, allow the earth chakra to pull the negativity out of your body through your roots. It is ok to do this because the earth chakra easily transforms negativity so do this with zero guilt. Allow yourself some time to be in this process. When you feel ready and grounded enough for now at this moment start to wiggle your toes and feet and then your fingers. When you feel ready, open your eyes. Your roots can stay connected to the earth chakra and just come back to this video anytime you feel you need to boost your grounding connection.
